Materials
- Wooden tray 30 cm x 27 cm
- 2 x wooden side pieces 20 cm x 27 cm
- 2 x wooden strips 2 cm x 30 cm
- 2 x wooden strips 2 cm x 23 cm
Step-by-step plan
Step 1
Cut a piece of wood for the top of the tray (depending on the armrest on which the tray should fit, in the photo 30 cm x 27 cm).
Cut two more pieces of wood for the sides (20 cm x 27 cm).
Glue one side piece to the underside of the tray along the long edge, using PU MAX® Wood Adhesive Thixotropic Express. Tip: Create a slot in the underside of the tray so that the side piece will easily fall into place.
Step 2
Place the tray on the armrest and mark the position of the next side piece. Then glue the second side piece to the underside of the tray.
Step 3
Cut two strips of wood measuring 2 cm x 30 cm and two strips measuring 2 cm x 23 cm.
Glue these strips of wood onto the outer edge of the tray. These strips provide a raised edge on the tray.
Step 4
The tray can be easily slid over the armrest of a garden bench, but can also be used indoors (lacquered, if desired).
